Summer Horseback Riding Day Camps!

 

 

 

Our 2012 summer day camps are right around the corner! Each session runs Monday thru Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM. Cost is $250, with a $50 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your spot.  Boys and Girls Ages 6 - 17. No previous riding experience required. Enrollment is limited and on a first come first serve basis.

 

What's Included?

Children will learn how to safely lead, groom, saddle, bridle, and untack a horse. They will receive a daily group horseback riding lesson. We also do a fun craft project every day. Kids will learn basic horse and stable care (examples; how to clean tack, feeding, cleaning stalls ect.) Campers will partake in mounted horseback riding games ( egg and spoon race, barrel pattern, ect.) and an obstacle course. Children should pack a lunch, we have a refrigerator available to keep drinks cold. A show will be held for parents on the final day of camp so the campers can show off what they've learned over the week.

Proper Riding Attire

All children must wear boots with a heal, and long pants. We will provide ASTM/SEI certified horseback riding helmets. Children are required to wear the helmet while mounted.

Meet the Camp Horses:

 

 

Chip ( Chippin Dale Jr. )

Chip is a 7 year old registered quarter horse gelding. He excels at western pleasure, but also does some of our English lessons, pony parties and summer camp. Great for the beginner through the advanced rider.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Merry Legs:

Merry legs is a 7 year old registered half welsh pony. She is dapple grey and stands 12.2 hh. She does our english and western riding lessons as well as summer camp and pony parties.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Friendly:

Friendly is a 15.3 hh Quarter Horse Cross gelding. He is chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. Friendly is used for both our English and our Western lessons, as well as summer camp and pony parties. Friendly is 14 years old, and has been owned by Hillside Stable since he was 6 years old.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

D.C.   ( Designer Coo ) :

D.C. is a registered solid colored paint gelding. He's 15.1 hh, and is used in both our western, and english riding lessons, as well as summer camp. Great for those just learning to ride. D.C. is 11 years old and has been owned by Hillside Stable since he was just 2 years old.

 

 

 

 

 

Cocoa:

 

Cocoa is a miniature horse that stands only 34 inches tall (8.2 hh). He is used for our smallest riders those weighing under 50 lbs. He's used in our beginner riding lessons, pony parties and summer camp. Cocoa is always a favorite among our lesson horses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Master:

Master is a registered Morgan Gelding. Master is 14 years old. Master is a very versatile horse used for both english, western and jumping lessons. Hillside Stable has owned Master since he was 2 years old.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sheelin:

Sheelin is a 10 year old bay thoroughbred mare, with three high white socks and a big blaze. Sheelin is used for our intermediate through advanced English, dressage and jumping lessons.

 

 

 

 

 

Cash ( Heir to Cash Assets ):

Cash is a 13.2 hh solid color paint pony. Cash is a bay. He is used in our children's beginner walk/trot lessons, for summer camp and for pony parties.
